Sushi Roku - Vegas Chronicles

Oh what a night of culinary delights with my colleagues in Las Vegas at Sushi Roku.   In the famous Forum Shops at Caesars on the 3rd floor, this dark and sensual place is a great intimate place to gather with friends or on a romantic date.
I had one of the most outstanding dishes I had ever had  - it was the tempura lobster with a miso glaze.  It was sweet and amazing because of the sticky miso and crunchy because of the panko tempura and juicy bits of lobster.  Our table couldn't get enough and was like heaven.  This item was a special on the menu and is a must have. 
We also had the tuna sashimi carpaccio, this was extremely fresh and light.  We had some first timers in our group and they tried this and thought it was decent.  Definitely something different for them and am not sure they would order it again but I am proud to have gotten them to open their palettes up.  Me thought that this was well executed and one favourite of ours as well. 

Other highlights included this flavourful broth full of shitake mushrooms, and greens.  It was a good non raw and safe dish for those who needed something regular in our meal.  It wouldn't be something I would order but am glad we did as it was really delicious!
One of our favourites makis was the shrimp tempura and asparagus roll and of course my personal go-to maki: spicy tuna maki - it had the jalapeno's diced and mixed in.
We also tried a healthier option - the garden roll which was a maki full of salad - it was really big full of leaves, mint and cilantro - not our favourite!
We also had Kobe Beef and chicken skewers; in between roasted green onions- a bit well done and not as tender and juicy as we need it to be.
One major disappointment was the tuna tartare with caviar - it was a bit fishy and not our favourite but we needed to try it because of the decadence but something that we would not try again!

All in all, the service was great, the sushi chef came out to greet us as well which was a lovely treat.  The servers also brought out sparklers for our finale!  Price for dinner wasn't the cheapest but it was a night well worth it!
