When is Quanto Basta, enough?

Quanto Basta - meaning “enough or as much as you want/like” in Italian is the newest kid on the block south of Summerhill from the owner of Capocaccia Salvatore Mele and has the entire neighborhood buzzing.  Stealing the steam from it's neighbors Le Petite Castor and Earth and opening before the anticipated Terroni project "Bar Centrale",it is the hot spot of the moment and this particular night it was packed from wall to wall with with Rosedale types both young and old, and society-page mavens (the Gee sisters and one of the proprietresses of “The Society”).

Earth

There's a new Rosedale restaurant on the block occupying the troubled 1055 Yonge address and it may have a chance for longevity.
It's Ed Ho's newest project - the owner behind Globe Bistro on the Danforth and he brings forth his principals of eating local and thinking global into this posh space.  Having been a diner at the previous restaurant - it was a healthy change with a steady flow of patrons and even some local star power as Eugene Levy and a big group were occupying the best seats in the house - at the front of the restaurant.

Sammys at the Black Camel

This little Rosedale sandwich shop may seem a bit non descript to some, but those who are in the know with regulars that keep coming back for more know that this is where gourmet sandwiches live.

Ohh la la - le Petit Castor

There's been a lot of buzz going around about this 'eager beaver' since it's openning a few months ago in the Rosedale area and I can say with confidence that this is a crowd pleaser for me. I really liked this place from the time I walked in- from it's cozy interior all decked out with antlers, wooden snowshoes and tennis rackets and hustle and bustle atmosphere. This is definitley a place to see or be seen! If you are dining - a reservation is definitely recommended as it as even crowded on a quiet Tuesday night!
