Woodlot warmth!

It was cold and wintery night outside but arriving at Woodlot with the enormous stone oven all fired up made it perfectly cozy, and worth the snowy trek. And the additional bonus of hot cocktail (hot apple cider with Wyborovka vodka) in hand waiting for our table made it even better.  As a note - I made reservations 2 weeks ago to ensure we had an ideal time of 8pm for dinner and that said, we waited for another half an hour but over cocktails, catch up and people watching, it was fine.

Udupi Palace.. Dosa delights!

If you haven't eaten a dosa, you must head over to Little India and look for Udupi Palace. It may not resemble much of a royal palace with it's basement location that more reminds you of a bare bones banquet hall but seriously, no one comes for the decor!  They know their dosas with a variety of 15  to choose from on their menu alone!  This is even the home of the annual "Spicy Dosa eating contest" where every summer, dosa connoisseurs alike gather to gorge on these delicate Indian crepes.

Amazing Organic Raw food- Live it up!

Organic and Raw foods seem to scare some people as they may have an impression that it's too healthy, tasteless, uncooked and cold. My biggest pet peeve is people who knock things before they try it! Raw food means that no ingredients are heated to over 116F (I think). Food should only be processed by your body.
So when my friend Jen suggested we try Live Organic Food bar, I was totally up for trying a new and healthy experience and I have to say that this place is a GEM! It's sooo good. Nothing like that Sex in the City episode where Samantha goes to tolerate the raw food to get the Absolute Hunk.
