Dim Sum and Bagels- What's open on Christmas!

It seems that Christmas puts our city at a stand still but there are many cultures that don't celebrate the holiday so here's a list of many establishments that aren't opening presents and drinking eggnog.
Usually is a safe bet to rely on Chinese restaurants, Jewish bakeries and hotel restos.

United Bakers Dairy:

Open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

What A Bagel:
Here are three locations open on Christmas Day: 973 Eglinton Ave. W. (6 a.m. to 4 p.m.), 421 Spadina Rd. (6 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and 2275 Yonge St. (6 a.m. to 6 p.m.).

The Bagel House: 1722 Avenue Rd.
Open all 24 hours of Christmas Day.


Tremendous Chinese Restaurant: 3550 Wolfdale Rd.
Open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Grand Yatt Chinese Restaurant: 9019 Bayview Ave.
Open from 9 a.m. until 11 p.m.

Forestview Chinese Restaurant: 466-468 Dundas St. W.
Open from 9 a.m. until 11 p.m.

Zelda's: 692 Yonge St.
Open from 5 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.

Cha Liu Dim Sum: 2352 Yonge St.

Open for lunch from noon to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. for dinner.

Open 24 hours.

Fran's: 20 College St.
Open 24 hours so you can get a greasy breakfast day or night.

Gabby's:
These three locations will be open on Christmas Day: 3263 Yonge St. (from 4 p.m. until 2 a.m.), 2076 Queen St. E. (from 4 p.m. until 2 a.m.) and 2899 Bloor St. W. (from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m.).

Dhaba: 309 King St. W.
 If Indian is your ideal festive meal, you're in luck. This resto serves lunch at noon until 2 p.m. and dinner from 5 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.

Bb33 Bistro: 33 Gerrard St. W.
Open for brunch served at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. and dinner served at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Senses: 318 Wellington St. W.
Open until at least 4 p.m. on Christmas Day.

Hemispheres: 110 Chestnut St., Metropolitan Hotel
Open at lunch from noon until 3 p.m. and dinner from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Open for dinner at 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Open regular hours from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.

Open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Fairmont Royal York: 100 Front St. W.

Trattoria Vaticano: 25 Bellair St.
Open 365 days a year, Vaticano serves traditional Italian meals at lunch or dinner on Christmas from noon to 2 a.m.

Bright Pearl Seafood: 346 Spadina Ave.
This dim sum restaurant is open on the 25th from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Genghis Khan Mongolian Grill: 900 Don Mills Rd.
A “do it yourself” buffet open Christmas day for lunch between 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Victor at Hotel Le Germain: 30 Mercer St.
The restaurant is open from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Grand Chinese Cuisine: 655 Dixon Rd.
Open from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Dynasty Chinese Cuisine: 2-131 Bloor St. W.
Open for lunch at 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and dinner at 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

If all else fails, many of Toronto's Asian restaurants downtown and in Markham will remain open on the 25th -- some with special hours. Call ahead.
