Mitzi's Sister has been one of my favourite Parkdale dining spots for years. You can go there for dinner to find an eclectic mix of folks listening to live music, playing board games and dining on good eats. Lazy Sunday brunches are good there as well. When I say eclectic crowd, Mitzi's is located in the heart of Parkdale so it draws many interesting folks from all walks of life and you can just enjoy a casual meal there while people watching and guessing peoples' stories. As for the brunch, I ordered a healthy portion of huevos rancheros as I was craving guacamole and Tash ordered their pesto chicken club which are definitely goggled up quickly. The huevos were served with refried beans, tortilla, eggs and a heaping portion of guacs so I was as happy as can be! The pesto club is a big triple decker sandwich and is good - what else can you say about a club sandwich? They did it right!
I believe that Mitzi's had foresaw the trend with gastro pubs and was ahead of the game in that sense. As Mitzi's is proud to serve 'out of the ordinary bar food' or sophisticated bar food and definitely a laid back, good place for a casual gathering, the occasion live band and for playing board games! *** 1/2 stars
