I have not been the biggest fan of the Drake hotel due to it's pretentious overcrowding and the influx of tourists to 905 crowd however I will say that recently I have been there on a few occasions and I think it deserves some honorable mentions:
-The Skybar roof patio- it's still a spectacular open air rooftop patio with good drinks, nice lounge area and on a sunny summer day - where better than to have a couple of coronas and mojitos??
- 5-7 menu- this is one of the best values in town - half price mixed drinks (my vodka sodas were around $3.75) and half price sushi!!!! They have the former sushi chef from Blowfish and I really think the calibre of sushi is very good. Although you are limited to certain maki rolls but for 3 rolls at $16! - that's value! We ordered their Drake roll which is their shrimp, avocado and crab maki, their spicy tuna roll and their salmon roll - all very good and filling.
- Starving artist menu- this is down in their cafe- and it features their brisket poutine for a deal!
- the handryer next to the cafe- this is a state of the art hand dryer that actually vacuums the droplets of water from your hands in less than 12 seconds flat. Check it out next time you're there!
- brunch on any of their patios- Their fresh blueberry scones are amazing and their soft + sexy scramble - which comes with ricotta cheese on a crostini, scrambled eggas and mushrooms and a green salad is what I would recommend.
