Sunday Brunch picks 2011

Sundays are for lazy mornings and one of my favourite meals of my day- brunch.

I have come up with my short list for 2011 of places that I love or would love to hit up:

Old faithfuls - These are highly popular places that have remained favourites for years and serve all our classic dishes that we crave in the morning and late afternoon.  Beware line ups can be long!
Aunties and Uncles -Go for their breakfast pockets and croque monseiurs.  74 Lippincott Ave (At College)
Bonjour Brioque- This small Parisian Patisserie is worth the long wait for their pain au chocolats and savoury breakfast treats- 812 Queen (at Degrassi)
Beast - a very meaty breakfast and house made tater tots put a smile on any face. 96 Tecumeseth (at Whittaker)
Delux- baked to order buttermilk beignets with a dulce de leche dipping sauce- enough said.  92 Ossington (At Humbert)
Grapefruit Moon -An Annex favourite.  Go for their breakfast quesadillas with a variety of toppings. 968 Bathurst (at Follis Avenue)
Insomnia - Another Annex neighborhood spot where the coffee comes with a hint of cinnamon and their pototoes have a saucy curried spice over them.  563 Bloor Street West (at Bathurst)

Le Select Bistro - A classic french bistro serving up your upscale brunch including croque monseiur, madames and an amazing rosti potato.  432 Wellington Street West
Mitzi's Sister - play a board game, watch live music and enjoy huevos rancheros.  1554 Queen Street West (at Sorauren Ave)
Stockyards- for the best fried chicken and waffles and melt in your mouth buttermilk bisquits.  Be prepared for a long line up and to eat with your hands!  699 St. Clair West (at Christie)
School- whether it's sweet or savoury - the menu is to die for.  Just be prepared for a long wait.  70 Fraser Ave (at Liberty)
Swan - eggs benny with smoked trout - delish!  Diner style -  892 Queen West (at Crawford)
